Google Maps has been an everyday go-to tool for commuters especially in cities like Lagos to plan and navigate their way through the daily traffic.

Night mode is now becoming a trend most especially amongst young adults who find it very cool. Most social media apps have this feature that’ll enable you turn all of those white brims black (or maybe something really close). This is aimed at keeping healthier eyes that doesn’t have to take all those bright rays that may bring health issues likewise saving some power to aid long lasting battery life.

Google maps has given it’s beta testers access to this feature since last september but has just yesterday rolled it out to all users on android. In order to have access to this new feature, the Google Maps app must be running the latest update (10.61.2) on the Playstore after which the ‘Theme’ would be changed in ‘Settings’.

It could be set to always be in light mode, dark mode or the same as device theme which basically uses the mode setting your device is on.

In Google’s announcement, there was however no mention of when this would be coming to iOS also, but all android users globally now have access to it.

We wish you’ll enjoy and make the best use of this feature.
